The Story Behind My Passion for Jewelry

by Randy on November 24, 2009

I have been very fortunate to have several wonderful influences in my life aiming me towards jewelry.  Starting when I was young, I had an interest in the arts, especially metal.  My Father is a sheet metal fabricator and welder, so growing up there was always nifty tools to play with and specialized projects being worked on.  Once in high school, I took numerous art, welding, and mechanic classes to find my “calling”.  While I was searching for the answer, my sister was going through the Jewelry Repair and Fabrication course at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College and was loving it.  So I set up a day that I could tour the school and see what it was all about.   It immediately sparked my interest.  I enrolled in the course right out of high school, graduating that next year and started my work as a Bench Jeweler.
To this day I love what I do.  There is always something new.  Whether it’s a simple repair, restyling an heirloom piece of jewelry or designing the perfect engagement ring.  I feel very fortunate to be able to work with clients to achieve the design they love.
Please stop sometime and see some of the jewelry I’ve made while working at Expert Jewelry Repair.  I’d love to meet you.
